Chalkboard

Chalkboard? Hmmm....

Are those even used anymore? ;)

Remember, there was a thingy that was used to draw a bunch of lines parallel to each other? Like a holder that held maybe six pieces of chalk? I think it was used for drawing music staffs on the board. Maybe also for grids and graphs.

I tried using one a few times. The chalk always broke or fell off, and the lines I made were all jagged with gaps...

It took real talent to use such a highly complicated device.

I guess I wasn't meant to be a music or math teacher (yeah that's why... the chalk...)

At last! A name! Very good. Oh and I really like the design/page thingy. Too early, can't quite muster my words to figure out what it's called, um, template? Anyway, everytime I come and look at you One Word writings I'm tempted to join up and do it myself- haven't yet, but it could still happen.
The worst thing about chalkboards, we also called them blackboards, was that you'd invariably get chalk all over yourself too.

Yay! My first comment over here!!! :D Yes "template" :) Unless you're at WordPress, then it's a "theme." - And yes, chalk all over yourself. I actually thought about clapping erasers too.

I'd love to see what you'd write for these. You don't have to sign up to give it a try. You go to the site, click the button to see the word. The timer starts. You write. When the time is up you can submit it or not. If you want to submit (ie save it on that site) it asks for your name and email, but that's just so your stuff can get stored on the same page together. Your email is not published and I've never been spammed by them. I think there's additional benefits to creating a "real" account (free) but I don't know what that is. Posting in their forums maybe? Not sure. - No risk to try it :) Of course if you see the word here FIRST then it's not as spontaneous lol!

FYI OneWord posts the new word at about 2pm EST each day.

Thank you for being my first comment here! :)

Hey, this is very pretty! I like it!

When I was a little girl I wanted to grow up to be a teacher because you could have free chalkboard privileges whenever you wanted.

Thank you :) I can't take credit for the theme itself, just for making the darned thing work! Lol! (Very buggy theme in Blogger.)

I never considered teaching as a way to gain chalkboard privileges... Very clever! If I'd considered the perks of teaching back then, I probably would have figured it was an easy way to get paid to sit around all day and do nothing (I don't think that NOW "Teachers of the world!" That was my childhood view!) I had a lot of teachers who encouraged us to read or do assignments, for long periods of time, while they sat at their desk and read the paper!
